Hundreds of graduate students across dozens of U.S. universities led walkouts, petitions, and other actions across the U.S. on and around November 29, 2017, to oppose a Republican tax plan advancing through Congress that would increase income taxes on graduate students by treating their tuition waivers and stipends as income.
